No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker competitor on the globe by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa introduced him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the adverse feedback from other people destroy his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.
He began playing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a learning opportunity and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made 2 final tables and won his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. He says that he is learning every single day and is quite humble about his success. Phil knows he makes mistakes in each game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Although Phil has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a normal basis.
