No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker competitor on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His papa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to discover everything he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely told his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the detrimental comments from other people annihilate his goal of being one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
Phil started playing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The first number of years for him were a learning period and coming away with a win was not a regular thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the closing table he defeated a number of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the next level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and a continuing passion for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his success. He admits to making errors every single session of poker and always aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
