Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is given seven cards faces showing and the casino is dealt seven cards faces hidden.
One 5 card hand and a two card hand need to be put together from the seven cards, the five card hand has to be better than the two card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the dealer’s.
