Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the customary 52-card basic deck and one joker. The gambler is assigned seven cards faces showing and the house is dealt 7 cards faces hidden.
A five card hand and a 2 card hand must be put together from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the dealer’s.
