Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve final poker table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. Gus won a big pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest gamblers in the world. While wagering on web poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. Gus regularly plays in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all in. I know Gus is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the min takes most of the expertise out of big stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be 1 of the best poker players in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amt.. I believe television can alter our view of the real world at times. The best players in the world could be guys you have won’t have heard of. Gus can be found participating in web poker on Full Tilt. He normally plays in high stakes omaha/8 and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
