Poker has become world celebrated lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit further than its television scores. Over the years many variants on the earliest poker game have been developed, including a few games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with blackjack than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the dealer instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little conniving or different types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the dealer saying "No more bets." At that instance, both you and the bank and of course every one of the other players are given five cards each. After you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you must either make a call wager or give up. The call wager’s value is akin to your original bet, which means that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your bet goes immediately to the dealer. After the bet comes the face off. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, with an amount equal to the initial bet. If the bank does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The house pony’s up money even with your bet and set odds on your call bet. These odds are:

• Equal for a pair or high card
• two to one for 2 pairs
• 3-1 for 3 of a kind
• 4-1 for a straight
• five to one for a flush
• 7-1 for a full house
• 20-1 for a four of a kind
• 50-1 for a straight flush
• 100-1 for a royal flush
